The work discusses the problems of the development in Russia of the rehabilitation of medical-social work with patients suffering from oncological diseases, the purpose of which is to improve the quality of life, the restoration of social roles, social and psychological adaptation of patients. It is noted that the special importance in medical-social work occupies the organization of palliative care of the incurable cancer patients. Evaluation of the quality of life of patients is considered as the criterion of the efficiency of providing of medical help in Oncology. The article represents the results of the research of the quality of life of patients suffering from oncological diseases with the use of the international questionnaire of the WHOQOL-100. The trends of medical-social rehabilitation of oncological patients are defined arising as the result of the change of the indicator of the quality of life in the «Physical» sphere and in the sphere «Level of independence». The results of the research allow to objectivize the strategy of rehabilitation directions of medical-social work with patients suffering from oncological diseases. According to the authors, the introduction of the medical-social practice of evaluation of the quality of life will allow to optimize the rehabilitation of the oncological patients. The indicator of the quality of life can be used as the social rehabilitation standard in evaluating of the effectiveness of medical-social work with patients suffering from oncological diseases.
