Opens the system of self-reliance and options of self-determination in the labour market which is very much influenced the modern changes in the rural community. In the article on the basis of the analysis of sociological information provides a set of adaptation strategies, allowing for the rural residents of the Jewish Autonomous region maintain acceptable conditions of survival. Disclosed four common strategies, which are widely spread on the territory of the Jewish Autonomous region. Adaptation strategies linked with the strengthening of private farms; extension of the nomenclature of the produced independently of food products; finding jobs not related to rural economy; the location of places of work are distant from the place of residence.
