A SOCIAL WORKER IN UKRAINE: POSSIBILITIES VS RESPONSIBILITIES

The article has carried out the study of a normative component of the functional responsibilities of specialists in the social sphere; as a result the conclusion about the need for the revision of current laws in Ukraine with the purpose of proper resource filling of the institute of social workers was made. The article has also provided the analysis of social service provision to families which are under difficult life conditions, which gives the possibility to mark out a number of problems in the social workers activity, namely: insufficient resource supply, low work motivation, absence of differentiated approach in obtaining of expert assistance, combination of several professions in their professional activity, disinterest of power bodies in the social worker prestige strengthening among the population, etc. The article proposes recommendations regarding increase in effectiveness of work of specialists in the social sphere.
